Botanical formulations · Medical devices · Clinical research

Ten years of accounts. Now I want a trial.

One man's botanical formulations, developed over ten years, and two medical devices built by engineering teams he sought out and has backed since. TroxBio exists to take all three to the point where they can be properly studied. We are looking for research partners to run the trials, funding to pay for them, and in time commercial partners — in that order.

The work

Ten years, and three programmes brought together.

The formulations are our founder's own, developed over ten years. The two devices are not — each was invented and built by its own engineering team, and he found them by travelling to look. What the three share is that none has been through a controlled trial, and all three are held back by the same thing. TroxBio exists to fix that one problem for all of them.

01 · Botanical formulations

Botanical formulations

Standardised preparations developed over ten years and given to people who asked for them. This is our founder's own work, and his alone. It has never been through a controlled study, which is the reason this company exists.

02 · Earlier detection

Earlier detection

A device intended to make screening cheaper, safer and reachable without a hospital visit, in a disease where finding the problem early already changes survival. Invented and built by its own engineering team. We did not design it; we found it and we back it.

03 · Slowing progression

Slowing progression

A device aimed at the mechanism driving a chronic disease rather than at managing its symptoms day to day. Again invented by its own team, again not ours, and again untested at the scale that would settle it.

Technical files, protocols and the identities of the teams are available under a confidentiality agreement. They are deliberately not published here.

What we will not claim

We have accounts. Accounts are not evidence.

Over ten years a great many people have used our founder's formulations, and he has heard directly from them. He is not going to repeat any of it to you, and neither is this website.

Not because there is nothing to say. Because an account from a person who chose to take something, with no control group, no blinding and no independent measurement, cannot tell you whether the thing worked. It never can, however many accounts there are and however much you want it to. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling.

So we make no claim of any medical benefit, for any of the three programmes. What we have is a decade of reasons to run a proper trial, and no trial. That is the only thing we are asking anyone to help us fix.

Rule one · No claim without a study behind it

We will not describe an outcome we cannot support with a controlled trial, in conversation or in writing, however encouraging it was.

Rule two · Someone else measures it

The study is designed and run by people who did not develop the formulation or build the device, and who are free to publish against us.

Rule three · Registered first, published either way

Trials are registered in advance and the result is published whether or not it favours the programme. A negative answer is still an answer we paid for.

I have spent ten years being told that what I have seen is enough. It is not enough. I would rather be proved wrong by a good trial than believed on my word.

What we are looking for

Three kinds of help, in this order.

First

Research partners

A hospital or university research department able to design and conduct randomised, controlled trials, and willing to hold us to its own standards rather than ours. One NHS research department has already written offering to do so.

Second

Funding for the trials

Philanthropic or grant funding to pay for the studies themselves. This is the binding constraint. The willingness to be tested is not in short supply here; the money to do the testing is.

Third

Commercial and licensing partners

Manufacturers, distributors and licensees — but after a result, not before. We are not seeking to commercialise anything that has not survived a trial designed to prove it wrong.

The route

A sequence designed so that failure is visible early.

Every step is arranged to surface a problem before more money is spent, not after.

  1. Characterisation

A formulation is defined precisely enough that a batch can be reproduced and a regulator can identify what was given. Until that is done there is nothing to trial.

  2. Independent verification

Device performance is re-tested in a laboratory the developers do not control, against the claim as written.

  3. A research partner and a protocol

A research department designs the study — endpoints, controls, numbers — and we accept its design rather than propose our own.

  4. Funding, then the trial

We put the protocol in front of funders of early-stage science with the uncertainties stated plainly, and the study runs to whatever conclusion it reaches.

General enquiries

We read everything that arrives. If you are a research department, a funder, or a reviewer willing to look at the technical material and give an honest verdict, say so in the first line and we will reply.

Please do not send confidential technical material in a first email, and do not send us medical questions about your own health. We cannot answer them.
